Maybe Death Note in story. (Not very close though). But there are many sad animes.

Was watching "Project Arms". Not bad, but also not excellent. A bit sad for people who don't like deaths. Also started with "Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica". Fairly easy going series. Finished "The Daughter of Twenty Faces" recently, great series with a good story and great characters. Before that I watched "Alien Nine", which was also rather well done, but short.

If you didn't like the first, you might not like the first half of the series. But it gets even better! (Incidentally, I liked all episodes).

I just remembered that I also watched "Brigadoon" some time ago. A quite well made series with a very high body count. Some people might not like the rather retro looking art though. But it does play around 1970 :)

Not been watching alot of anime lately, saw the last ep of higurashi no naku koro ni rei some days ago, otherwise i've downloaded Oz and been watching that for a while hehe.
